Whilst I was born in Sweden I have lived in England for most of my life but have celebrated all things Scandinavian for all of it! My Swedish heritage is reflected in all I do in Dalahome with my passion to deliver simple Scandinavian living through painted furniture, furniture design, interior design and accessories.

After art school I worked as a graphic artist, both freelance and in a graphics studio. With my children starting school I wanted to revisit my former career but apply it to something I was really passionate about. Sweden has been a part of me always and particularly Gustavian painted furniture which became a deeply embedded passion whilst making my family home.

I started Dalahome originally to design and produce a range of Sweden inspired painted decorations made from Scandinavian sourced birch and pine. I have sold over the years to Scandi shops, such as Skandium, Haus, Scandi Living and Solsken. From those beginnings I was inspired to paint furniture in the traditional Swedish way, that would wear over the years in the beautiful way true Swedish painted furniture does, as well as now designing and making pieces to bespoke order.

Through furniture painting I have been asked for advice on interiors and how to create a Scandinavian look and feel in the home. To cater for this I started Scandi Living Interior Design, as a separate entity with a business partner. Here we advised and project managed on interiors that delivered a Scandinavian feel to homes, which was often complemented by painted furniture I provided through Dalahome.

After several wonderful years balancing both businesses and since moving from Surrey to Cornwall I am delighted to be working solely under one business again to fully focus on the craft I love most. This renewed simplicity has given me fresh inspiration and I’m excited to continue creating pieces that bring beauty and calm into the homes they belong to. The spirit of Scandinavian interiors will remain part of what I do always and I am happy to offer guidance and advice as part of the Dalahome service.
